Men Deserve To Look And Feel Their Best
Dr. Gallo offers treatments for men and women alike. And while none are specifically for men, Dr. Gallo tailors each treatment to the specifics of your face, keeping in mind a man’s skin is usually thicker and tougher. Men also tend to have stronger brow ridges, wider cheekbones, and a more prominent jawline and angular chin and jaw.
With that said, while Dr. Gallo will perform everything from facelifts to browlifts to dermal fillers to Kybella on men and cater to their specific facial structure, certain non-surgical and surgical procedures are more common for males than others. And no matter which one(s) you choose, Dr. Gallo will use his expertise, skill, and meticulousness to create a final product you’re proud to display to the world.
Most Common Non-Surgical Facial Treatments for Men
Of all the non-surgical facial treatments for men offered by Dr. Gallo, Botox ranks as the number one treatment guys receive, with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reporting over 250,000 Botox procedures being performed on males for aesthetic purposes in one year.
Botox has made a name in the cosmetic procedures realm — and earned it — for its ability to relax facial muscles and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Gallo can use it for this purpose on all the following to give you a more youthful appearance:
- Glabellar lines: the lines that form between your eyebrows, especially from frowning or squinting
- Crow’s feet: the lines that appear around the corners of your eyes from laughing, smiling, and squinting
- Forehead lines: the horizontal lines on your forehead from raising your eyebrows
The treatment is relatively quick, usually taking Dr. Gallo only about 10 to 15 minutes to administer the injections. Plus, you may return to work immediately after, as there’s no downtime with this procedure.
Most Common Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures for Men
When it comes to facial plastic surgery for men, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, and facelifts are the most common.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a surgery to give you a “bright-eyed,” rejuvenated facial appearance on the upper half of your face. By removing excess skin around the top and/or bottom eyelids, your eyes become prominent while you achieve a more revitalized look.
Removing excess skin underneath the eyes takes away those “bags” that give you a tired appearance. Instead, you look refreshed, regardless of whether you’re running on four or eight hours of sleep each night.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty focuses on giving your ears a more symmetrical or well-balanced appearance.
It’s particularly beneficial for those with droopy or protruding ears. You may select this procedure to improve the size of your ears so they’re more proportionate with your face. Dr. Gallo can also perform the surgery to improve symmetry between your ears.
This procedure takes one to three hours, depending on its complexity, and you return home the same day.
Facelift
A facelift tightens facial sagging while reducing the appearance of wrinkles to help you look more youthful. Dr. Gallo performs various types, including mini lifts, full facelifts, and deep plane lifts, to give you just the right amount of time reversing. The one for you depends on your goals, age, and skin elasticity, and Dr. Gallo will work with you to determine the ideal option for your needs.
During a facelift, you may have muscles or other tissue repositioned or removed to raise your entire facial appearance, or you can opt for a less invasive option.
Facelifts focus on the mid to lower portion of your face, but you may receive additional procedures at the same time that concentrate on the upper half or neck to take a more comprehensive approach to rejuvenating your facial appearance.
To Have Surgery or Not to Have Surgery
Dr. Gallo provides both surgical and non-surgical facial treatments for men. Some factors to consider as you’re deciding include:
Budget
Non-surgical procedures are cheaper initially but can get costly to maintain the results over time.
Age
If you’re younger than 40, non-surgical options are proactive approaches to slow the signs of aging before they occur. On the other hand, those who are older may not notice non-surgical results as well as surgical ones.
Goals
If you’re looking for preventative measures, non-surgical treatments are the way to go. However, if you’re looking for a total transformation or just more drastic results in general, surgery is a better option.
Downtime/Time Off Work
Consider if it’s possible for you to take off work or time from your family or other obligations as you recover from a surgical procedure, which could have you laid up for two or so weeks.
When you choose non-surgical options, you may return to living life immediately with little to no restrictions.
Overall Health
Some health conditions affect surgery or make you more prone to side effects from a non-invasive treatment.
At your consultation, you and Dr. Gallo will discuss your goals and overall health to decide on the most effective, safe procedure(s) for you.
What to Expect at Your Consultation

Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Procedures for Men
If you still have questions, please take a moment to read through the answers to what other patients are asking:
Most men request a facelift, otoplasty, blepharoplasty, or Botox from Dr. Gallo. Other common treatments males request include neck lifts and rhinoplasty.
Hyaluronic acid fillers, i.e., Restylane and Juvederm, are among the most popular because they contain an ingredient found naturally in the body. These fillers aren't known to cause many side effects, and the ones they do are temporary. Plus, with Dr. Gallo’s competency, you receive natural-looking results.
Typically, the results of a full facelift last 10 to 12 years, while the outcome of a mini facelift for men lasts five to 10 years. Genetics plays a role in the longevity of the surgery, but wearing sunscreen and protective clothing out in the sun and limiting sun exposure in general assists in maintaining the results for as long as possible. Eating healthily, maintaining your weight, and not smoking prolong the success of your procedure as well.
No perfect age for a facelift exists for men. It depends on how quickly you show signs of aging, which relates to your genetics and habits. Generally speaking, though, Dr. Gallo usually sees men in their 40s, 50s, or 60s. Other treatments can be given to help with minor signs of aging if you’re not quite ready for a facelift yet.
Mini facelifts are less extensive than full ones, especially compared to a deep plane facelift. For that reason, you can expect to pay between $5,000 and $12,000. The price you pay, however, varies based on the specifics of your surgery, including the type of anesthesia used, rather than your age.
If you have poor skin elasticity or are severely overweight, you may not be a good candidate. Moreover, if you have certain health conditions, such as poorly managed diabetes, this surgery may not be right for you. Rest assured, Dr. Gallo will assess your skin and health to determine if you qualify and find a safe option for you if you don’t.
There aren’t age restrictions on facelifts. If you have visible signs of aging, like wrinkling and skin sagging, you may receive a facelift. With that said, though, you need a decent amount of skin elasticity to see the results you want. For that reason, you should have realistic expectations.
Though Dr. Gallo strives to make results look natural with all facelifts, deep plane facelifts tend to look the most natural because they focus on lifting the tissue underneath the skin.
Insurance usually won’t cover any of the costs of a facelift because it’s for aesthetic purposes and isn't medically necessary.
There isn’t a specific age when blepharoplasty is necessary. Some men opt for it as young as in their 30s, while others may not need it until they're in their 60s. You’ll need to undergo a physical examination to ensure you’re healthy enough for the surgery, and you’ll need to understand that your skin changes with age, which could affect healing.
